This is a digital composite I created as part of a final project for last semester. Even though it is very Uelsmann-esque, it's fun to dabble in various types of alternative digital photography.

The Pianist

Miriam is by far the most talented pianist I have ever heard in my life. I have the privilege of being her brother, which naturally qualifies me to do all of her photography. I guess you could say I am a sponsor of sorts. I am very pleased with the images from this session. Aside from minimal cropping and adding type, I didn't do any adjustments to these images, they are straight from the camera.

Riders

Wow. What a change in pace. A few friends from school and I went to a track in highland and took some pictures for some BMX riders so that they can submit them to potential sponsors. We had a pretty complete setup: a generator to power two power supplies, which powered three flashes, these all triggered by a wireless transmitter on the camera called a Pocket Wizard. That enabled us to move anywhere on the track and not be held down by cables. A few of these jumps ended in teeth-clenching wipe-outs, but I guess that's not as much of a concern as is getting the picture of the good part of the jump. Sometimes I need to shoot something totally different to remind myself how much I truly love photography.

Fui and Leonne

This was definitely the most unique wedding I've ever done. Simply organizing such a gigantic wedding party was a memorable experience. I had no idea what kind of cultural overload I would experience, especially that evening. It was a challenge just to keep shooting and not get distracted by the overwhelming beauty of the dancing and miles of handmade gifts. I'll never forget it.

The Marofs

It's that time of year again! Everyone needs a family photo for christmas cards and such so I have more opportunities to work with some amazing families. The children behaved very well on the 2 hour drive to the Salt Flats. Thanks again that was really fun!

More HDR
Well I was working today on editing photos from a wedding I shot in Manti. I shot this photo (or series of photos, different exposures, merged to an HDR image) on the drive back from Manti that evening. I can't help but get distracted by old pictures I've taken.
